Living out Dr. Jerry Falwell's dream to play and beat Notre Dame, Coach Carey Green and his Lady Flames Basketball team face off against No. 1 seed Notre Dame on Sunday, March 18, at 2:40 p.m. at Notre Dame.
Seeded No. 16 in the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship, the Lady Flames are excited for the chance to make the dream of beating Notre Dame a reality. Coach Green is ready for the game saying, “You know this is a David and Goliath scenario and we’ve been in those situations before. And God’s always good.” Smiling as he recalled Dr. Falwell’s hope of beating the Irish, Green added, “That can’t happen if you don’t get the opportunity.”
The Liberty University Marching Band and Cheerleaders will fly to South Bend, Ind. to cheer on the Lady Flames and you can get in on all the action as well! If you are in the area, grab your red Liberty gear and head to Notre Dame’s Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center. For tickets, contact Notre Dame’s ticket office.
