Standing in the Gap.

Good afternoon!

I wanted to make you all aware of an incredible opportunity North Hills Community Church Student Ministry has to stand in the gap for life through prayer! On August 6th, 2011 - Piedmont Woman's Center is holding a 3 hour time of intercessory prayer at each of their locations. (Greer, Laurens Rd, and Grove Rd.) We, NHCC, have been asked to host this time of prayer at Grove Road. Our time of prayer at our location will be from 12:00 to 3:00PM. Basically, our responsibility would be to have people there each hour (or all 3) to greet people as they enter the building and pass out the sheet of prayer points to be prayed over. This is an event we can also promote to our church body and make it well outside the lines of just student ministry. The members of our church can join with the members of other supporting churches to pray right there in the center.

Just to give you an insight, Grove Road is right next to the largest abortion clinic in South Carolina! Prayer is crucial in any ministry and PWC (Piedmont Woman's Center) covets the prayers of believers. For many babies in Greenville and the surrounding areas, PWC is the only advocate they have. This is a phenomenal way for our student ministry and church to join with this ministry in defending life. I love that our church isn't afraid to shine the light of the gospel into the darkest of difficult issues like our latest teaching series - Wisdom Fest - on Homosexuality.

All that to say, My prayer is that God will bring men and women facing a crisis pregnancy to PWC instead of an abortion clinic. A place where they can find hope and wise counsel. So, I will be there to host, but I would love for the body to gather around this as well. I will inform you on what all will need to be done and hopefully will be able to join in on this crying out of prayer to the Almighty.
